Mini Soap Saver Pouch Free Crochet Pattern
I travel a lot and always feel bad about leaving those hotel soaps barely used to be discarded. I like to take them with me and make use of them at home. Here's a crochet pattern for a mini soap pouch for them. I've actually used kitchen string here, 100% cotton, but Scrub-It yarn would be even more luxurious.
Materials:
US H8 Hook
Worsted Weight yarn- either a scrubby type yarn or 100% cotton is good
Recommended Yarns:
Scrub It
Scrubby
Washi
Sugar n'Cream
The pouch will fit 2 hotel sized soaps. Its crocheted in the round, with no increases to create a straight walled pouch.
Chain 10
Row 1) Sc in 2nd chain from hook, and Sc in each chain across, then continue on by Sc in in under side of each chain across. When you get back to the beginning of the row, Sl St in the chain.
Row 2) Ch 3, *Sk 2, 3Dc in 3rd stch * repeat from * 4 more times. Sk 2, 2Dc in 3rd stch, Sl St into the chain at the beginning of the row.
Row 3) Ch 3, follow the shell stitch pattern with 3Dc be sure to create your shell in the center stich of the shell below, Sl St in to chain at beginning of row.
Row 4) Repeat row 3
Row 5) Ch1, Sc all the way around, Sl St into chain at beginning of row and bind off.
Thread a bit of yarn around the rim of the pouch, so it can be pulled shut. Knot the ends of the yarn. Fill your pouch with soap and tie it shut. Enjoy!
