Ribby Turban Headband from Knit Collage

This Headband is the perfect fast and easy project. You can finish it in an evening, for a quick stylish addition to your wardrobe or as a gift. Great fro beginner knitters, it involves a bit of cabling so you should know how to cable or want to learn. The finished size of the headband is 10 inches in diameter and 4 Inches wide at the back.

About the yarn:
Knit Collage's Cast Away yarn is a gorgeous hand carded and handspun skein. The finished result is a beautiful melange of colors in a super soft thick and thin textured yarn. Some of the colorways have sparkling Angelina fibers in them and are denoted by the word Sparkle at the end of their color name. Even though the raw materials are the same, no two skeins are completely alike because of the intense handmade process that goes into each and every skein.
Length: Approx. 68-70 yards
Yarn Weight: 100g
Content: 100% Wool or 99% Wool/1% Poly (for the sparkly fibers)
Gauge: About 3-4 stiches per inch
Suggested needle size: US 11 - 15 or 8mm - 10mm
Washing instructions: gently handwash and lay flat to dry

Knit Collage's Daisy Chain yarn was born out of Amy's eternal love for daisy chains, flower crowns and all the wonderful feelings connected to them. Bits of tea-dyed lace, hand-printed Jaipur fabrics and daisy trims are handspun into each colorway. Of course, you'll also find their signature sparkles and pretty hand-carded heathered colors. Even though the raw materials are the same, no two skeins are completely alike because of the intense handmade process that goes into each and every skein.
Content: A mix of mostly wool, a little mohair and 1% sparkling Angelina fibers. Each colorway is different.
Length: approx. 60 yards.
Gauge: about 1.5 - 3.5 stitches per inch.
Yarn Weight: 125g.
Suggested Needle Size: US 11 - 15 or 8mm - 10mm.
Washing Instructions: Gently handwash and lay flat to dry 

Do you need Needles?
The sheer bulky-ness (is that a word?) of these yarns calls for some fairly large needles, here are the ones we recommend for this pattern.

Clover Bamboo Knitting Needles 9 Inch, Size 13 - fantastic wood needles, your work won't slip off as easily as with metal needles. They are made from Bamboo which is a renewable resource. The wood is soft and smoothly sanded and waxed so your work won't catch on them.

Crystalites Acrylic Knitting Needles 10 Inch, Size 13- These needles are a bright orange so you can easily find them in your knitting bag. All the Crystalites Needles are color coded to make it easy for you to identify their sizes at a glance. They are lightweight and super sturdy.
