This sweater was inspired by my childhood and weekends spent in northern Michigan on the sand dunes. It is my favorite cardigan for layering and keeping warm all Autumn and Winter long! -Andrea Mowry |
The Throwback Cardigan is worked flat from the top down seamlessly, except for the sleeves which are knit in the round.
Samples shown are 4007 & Indigo and 4001 & Thuja.

Stitch markers
Stitch holders (or scrap yarn)

Needles:
Main Fabric US 8 (5mm)-32” (80cm) to 40” (100cm) circular and preferred needles for small circumference knitting (Magic Loop or DPNs)
Ribbing US 7 (4.5mm)-32” (80cm) to 40” (100cm) circular and preferred needles for small circumference knitting.
(Use the needle size you need to achieve gauge, and size down one for ribbing.)
Gauge:
18.5 stitches & 26 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch knit flat on larger needles, after blocking.
Sizes:
Available in 7 sizes. This sweater is intended to be worn with approximately 5” (13cm) of positive ease. There are notes in the pattern to help with picking the size best suited for you!
Sample shown is Size 2, worn on a 34” bust with 5” positive ease.

About the Yarn:
With your kit you will receive Harvest Worsted Yarn, a solid hank, hand dyed with natural organic materials to create natural earthy colors. Because of the unique natural materials use for this yarn, colors are sometime subject to variation as each harvest is different. And Uneek Worsted, a bold and brightly self striping yarn that somehow always manages to lay its colors symmetrically through your project.
Both yarns are 100% Extrafine Merino Wool. To care for your Throwback you will be able to machine wash it on a gentle cycle in cool water and lay it flat to dry.
Price and how much yarn is included will vary depending on your sizing choice.
